Negative Impacts
The following are some of the negative impacts of Social Media:
1) Distraction for students:
Social Media, if not used correctly, can become a distraction for students. They spend more of their time chatting and doing other activities. This can become a distraction even when they are not using it. There minds don't isolate from the urge of going online. This can affect their daily routine and studies.
2) Fraud and Theft
Cyber Media can prove out to be a medium for fraudulent minds. Every year, millions of people are affected by cyber thefts. Attackers send spam mails through which they claim one's account, identity and even credit card numbers!
A man can lose crores just by a single click on spam e-mails. Fraud can be directly or indirectly done through cyber media, either by forcing to do a financial job.
3) No life
There is a LONELY CONNECTIVITY among people through computers. It is more common in teenagers. People are connected to the world, but the loose their social skills and talking in public.

People tend to spend more time on social networking websites rather than reading newspapers. Pages can post news which can appear in the news feed and people can be aware of the hot topics of the day just by scrolling down.

Social Media can be a great source to show advertisements, people readily check their news feed and can be easily attracted with advertisements through such websites.
